Since 1922, Olympia Christian School has been committed to the education of the whole child. Established on the belief that to be Christian is to do everything with excellence, we place a premium on academic quality. We also aim to instill in our students a desire to dedicate their scholarly skills to a higher purpose—making the world a better place.
After having served the community in northeast Olympia for 58 years, we have moved to a new building at 1215 Ethel Street on Olympia's west side. We are loving our new campus, which serves kindergarten - 8th grade and includes OCS's Early Learning Center for infants to 5 years. Our theme is FISH! F for fun and friendship, I for intellect and imagination, S for spirituality and service, and H for health and happiness. Our theme is incorporated in everything we do, including Encounter Weeks--Earth Encounter, God Encounter, Art Encounter, PE Encounter, etc.--which include field trips, hands-on-activities, and presentations by students and guest speakers. Serving others is a priority, locally and beyond. Our concert, "To Haiti with Love from the Kids of Thurston County," raised $7,000 for the Haitian earthquake survivors. Other activities include serving the Thurston County Food Bank, Olympia Parks Dept., Safeplace, and United Way.
Leadership skills are integrated into our school’s curriculum and culture. This provides students with practical character and life skills relevant for today’s 21st century challenges. We get only one chance to prepare our students for a future that none of us can possibly predict. At Olympia Christian School, we make that one chance count!
I believe in Olympia Christian School and its staff and programs. My own children were educated here, and they were well prepared for college and graduate school. Many of our alumni are business people and professionals making a difference right here in our community.
